Kainis!!! !@#$%^&*()!

I know I don't have any reason to be furious with this but I just want an outlet to just burst my feeling out loud.

Kasi ba naman, nung isang araw, nag-bloghop lang ako sandali. In that short span of time, nakakita na agad ako ng newborns din na ang name is either Anikka or Annika. Grrrrr...

I know, I know... I don't own the propietary rights for my baby's name... pero I thought it was pretty uncommon sa Pilipinas kaya it was a surprise to me.

Ang unang naisip ko syempre nag blog hop din sila and nakita siguro yung name na Anikka sa blog ko... kainis!!!! Kasi kakapanganak lang ng babies rin nila, like a month before or after Anikka was born and I've been blogging about her name since September last year. Anong chance na they were not decided what to name their babies yet and nung nakita yung name ni baby, yun na rin ginaya.
Sorry talga, it's just pretty upsetting.

Again, I'm sure it's not gonna be a big deal after a few days pero nainis lang talga ago.... buset... di man lang naging creative at nag isip ng iba... grrrrrrr!!

The Happiest Baby On the Block

Goodness. I finally was able to get my mom to watch the video by Dr Harvey Karp - The Happiest Baby on the Block. These are the different techniques he's teaching to calm crying and fussy babies.

Ever since my mom came here in Arizona, she questions how come me and hubby are swaddling Anikka tight before putting her in her swing to sleep. She said she feels sorry for the little kiddo because she can't move freely. Plus she also questions what's up with the white noise we play when we put my baby to sleep at night. I was about to go insane trying to explain when I realized it would make sense for her to see the video herself.

We owe this video bigtime (and of course my good friend Jes who gave me this video as a gift) as to why at 8 weeks old, Anikka started to sleep through the night - 9am to 6am. Yep, that's right 9 to 10 hrs of sleep. Either we're just one of the lucky few that Anikka's been really good or Dr H's 5S system works (Swaddling, Swaying, Shushing, Swinging, Sucking). So, if you're a new parent, or about to become parents, don't miss out on this video. Goodluck!

You Know Your Baby Is Growing Fast When...

1) You get up one morning and your arms feel like they're going to fall off...

2) These are the different sizes of clothing she had worn for the past 11 weeks...

3) Not too long ago she was "swimming" in her preemie diapers cuz they're big for her, now she barely fits size 1...

4) Her box of can't-fit-into-these-clothes-anymore is almost full...

5) You find yourself digging through the boxes where you kept the 3-6 months size clothes your friends gave you for your baby, getting them ready to be washed...

6) It's time to get bigger bottles cuz her 4oz bottles are no longer enough...

7) Her SnuggleNest co-sleeper bed seemed to have shrunk...

from this...
to this...

8) Not too long ago she looked like this...

and now she looks like this...

9) In the past 3 months, your world revolved around her and that leaving her with someone else's care (even if it's your own mother) because you gotta go back to work, just crushes your heart into pieces...

Ahhhh, the joys and pains of motherhood... now I understand....

My Mom's Coming Here!!!

She's flying tomorrow and will be in Texas for the whole week. Then I'll go pick her up in Houston next week then we'd fly here in AZ together!! Woooohooo!!

I pray that they all have a safe flight. She's flying with my brother-in-law's parents so at least her first long flight wouldn't be as nerve-wracking than when she's flying alone. It's going to be her first time here in the US so I'm praying soooo hard that there wouldn't be any problems in the immigration.

Haaaay, my baby would finally be able to meet her lola!!! :o) Thank you po God for the many blessings.

Goodbye Gramps...

Get a playlist! Standalone player Get Ringtones!

My lolo (grandpa), my mom's dad, passed away last week. It was sad but I guess we already accepted the fact that he's going anytime. I believe he's 85.

I didn't have that much memories with my gramps. The first time I met him was when I was about 6 years old. He and my lola (grandma) left my mom and her younger siblings when they were little to their relatives. They had gone their separate ways and decided they both didn't want anything to do with my mom and her 2 younger sisters. My mom didn't see him until after 25 years, if I estimated it correctly.

I remembered I used to cry a lot whenever my mom tell her stories how she became the "mom & dad" to her siblings at a young age... how their relatives mistreated them... and how she had to sell vegetables to buy herself a pair of slippers to use for school when she was a kid. It was really sad. Kind of a tele-novela, really! I even think it could pass for an episode of "Maalaala Mo Kaya"...

Anyways, while all these were happening, my gramps started a new family in Manila (my mom and aunts were left in Davao and Cotabato). He had 1 daughter with my step-lola. All in all, he had 4 daughters.

I don't have any ill feelings with my gramps at all. My mom had forgiven him and she loves him regardless of what happened. If things were any different, my mom wouldn't be where and who she is now and maybe I wouldn't be where and who I am now. Plus, I soooo love my step aunt, she's my favorite tita (aunt) of all!

My mom is actually relieved that finally, my gramps is already at peace.

To my gramps, I'm so sorry that we were not able to come and see you before you go. Please know that you were loved by all of us. We know that you had fulfilled your purpose here on earth and you're now at peace in God's loving arms.

Goodbye gramps. We will miss you.

Taking my mind away from it all...

If you are my friend in Facebook, you'd prolly be aware of what's going on. Too much to take for me in a day so I ended up doing what makes me enter into my own "zone"- tinkering with my computer and looking for some cool stuff I can do with it.

In the process, I thought I'd install Apple's Quartz Composer so I'd learn something new plus it feeds my hungry brain for anything 3D...

After reading a few tutorials, I ended up bumping into this uber cool screensaver, heheheee. Too bad it costs $15 to install so for now I'll just savor admiring it's animation. I am not really into fancy but useless screensavers because it just slows down my system. However, to me, clocks/calendars are exemptions because they're very functional.

Oh well, hope you'd like this as well... soooo cool cool cool.

Missing My Sister's Wedding...

Tomorrow is my sister's wedding in Pinas and we're missing it :o( The little kiddo is too small to travel that far just yet so we couldn't go home..

Anyhoo, I made them a video for their special day. The plan was to send them the DVD of this and play this on their reception dinner however, I just didn't have enough time to get it done. I really am uber upset with myself, it's the least that I could do for them...

This was keeping me busy for the past few weeks trying to get it done but my bebe is keeping me busy as well...

So, to my sister and G, best wishes to your wedding!! Here's the video that didn't quite make it :o( It represents the amount of time I wasn't holding Anikka in my arms... and sleepless nights as well... I really really really wish you'd like it even if it looks a little amateur-ish... i didn't get the help of my sound effects guy (translation: hubby) so the music transition is kinda funny...

Sending all our love and kisses from AZ!!!!
