No Longer A Priority...

Today's our 3rd civil wedding anniversary. For the past few years, we try to do something a bit different and oftentimes hubby would go out of his way to surprise me...

But today was totally whacked-out. I waited and waited and waited - only to find out that we didn't have plans for today. No cards or e-cards from him either. To sum it all up, he didn't invest any time to plan for something "memorable".

I know he loves me, still tries to make me smile everyday, gives me endless hugs & kisses and words of affirmation, makes sure I have a cuppa water by the bed at night, etc etc. I guess that's what's important. But to give a relationship that added "oooommppph", sometimes special days like your ANNIVERSARY "requires" a tad bit of extra effort to keep the sparks flying all over, right? I mean, doing something different apart from your daily routine is not a bad idea. Am I right? Or am I right?

So I asked him where my card is. He said he didn't have one for me. That he didn't have time to get one. Whoah! I've seen him spend countless hours in front of his computer every night to update his smartphone with some software. I've seen him spend time surfing the web for all his gadget stuff and he's telling me he didn't have time to get me a card or send me even one of those free e-cards? On our anniversary???????????????

In fairness he asked me if I wanted to go to Dave & Busters since we both love to play all those kiddo-at-heart games. But still I know it's something he just have thought of like maybe this morning, not something that he "planned", you know what I mean? Where is the effort??????

I was busy too... but heck, I managed to get hold of this guy from Timbuktu just to get you this collectors edition of this cartoon series I know you'd love to have. It's something I've put extra effort onto because seeing your eyes shine with excitement the moment you open the box is heaven to me. I searched through countless cards as well as e-cards just to find the perfect one to send you - not just something I randomly picked. I went to look for the same wedding cake we had when we first got married (though I didn't get to find one) but the point is, I went out there to look for it.

Gone are the days when months ahead, he would already tell me to keep my calendar open since he planned something for us. Gone are the days when he would text me out of the blue with sweet lyrics he just heard from the radio. Gone are the days when he would just surprise me with flowers even if there's no occasion.

Whatever happened? Maybe because I got demoted from being a girlfriend to just being a wife and that no matter what he does, I'd still be his wife. Whereas being a girlfriend, requires more effort because I can just break up with him anytime when he messes up so the "challenge" to win me is still there. So maybe I don't challenge him enough. Maybe I'm being too nice. Maybe I need to shift my thinking a bit.

So did I talk to hubby about it? Nope. He didn't have any idea how I felt at all. I thought I'd sleep on it until I forget about it the next day. I'm sure I'd be fine and the "tampuputs" would be over soon. It's just hard to fathom that for the first time in our married life, I didn't see him as excited over our anniversary.

Maybe I'm just making a big deal out of it, who knows? Could it be that I'm just menstrual, possibly. One thing's for sure though - my heart aches with sadness. I feel that I'm no longer his priority anymore :o(

chewy's sad for mummie as well

I know the "Arnel Pineda sensation" had been out there for months but I never heard about him until today. I got a lot of catching up to do. I saw this video from youtube singing with the whole Journey entourage and I was hooked! I'm sooo speechless, trying so hard not to be mushy and all, but I cracked! Never heard of a Journey song rendition being this close to the original... wow!!! Proud to be a Flip!!! Galing galing galing naman!!!!!! I can't wait for their new album to come out. 'Nuf said!

Btw, here's the list of their tour dates for 2008!! Awwww... October 3 here in Phoenix!!!! Wooohooo!!!

About Babies & Kids

My good friend Dee, dropped me a note yesterday telling me about her good news - yep, they're pregnant! I'm just soooo happy for her and her hubby :o) They started trying last month and now they're soon to be parents!!! Super fast, like slam dunk right away!!! Can't be any happier for them :o)

There are times when I feel the pressure of having kids already... you know times like these when most of your friends are starting to have kids of their own and you begin to notice they have less and less time to chitchat with you, hahaa :o) Kinda makes you want to assess your priorities in life as well.

Sometimes I think I just feel like I wanted to have kids just because everyone is having one and our parents are getting older so I want them to enjoy their "apos" while they can. However, with our fast paced lifestyle, can we seriously seriously seriously have the "luxury" of having kids at all? Hmmmm.

We both come back home after work around 6pm-ish. By the time we eat dinner, it's almost 7pm. We gotta walk the 2 dogs, feed them, catch up with what happened for the day etc etc etc. By the time we're done, it's time to go yoga. I get to come back home 10pm-ish. Then take a shower & prepare what to eat for the next day, by the time we get all things done, it's almost midnight!!!

Sooooo, come on, tell me how in the world are we going to have kids with this kind of lifestyle?????????? Scary.

Speaking of Spring...

I was cleaning up my hard drive when I came across these pics I forgot to post last year. I took these photos when we went to visit friends in Oregon - that was around this same time last year, almost spring :o) Tulip festival cannot be described with any word. I'd let the pictures speak for themselves.

My Website!

I've been wanting a website of my own so I kinda played around Apple's iWeb and came up with this :o)

I just had it published on Apple's server (.mac) since I got their trial version so now I have my own .mac URL. I just want to see how easy or difficult it is to manage my own website so I just availed of their 60-day trial. It's not too bad but I don't think I could let go of my Blogger cuz everything else seemed to be easy with Google. Plus, it's free vs if I completely moved to Apple, I am limited to a 10G yearly plus I gotta pay $99 (if I remembered it correcly) annually. Yaiks!

Anyhoo, I have time to think about it. I have other projects I have in mind and is not really a priority at this point. Just tinkering with the possibilities of setting up my own web/blog/video/photos all rolled into one. Wishful thinking...

4 Months After...

I got my Canon HV20 November last year. I love everything about it --- except the color (very trivial so it's not that bad).

Then recently, Canon debuted a new consumer video cam in the <$1000 category and named it Vixia HV30. Uhuh, correct, the successor of their HV20.
Now I'm thinking if I should have just waited... naaaah... it's ok. Not much of a difference from mine though but I really really love its classic black color...

From the pics below, you can see they compared the HV20 (silver) and HV30 (black) side by side. I'm turning green now cuz I really like the look of black, but it's ok :o) I recorded tons of video footages on my HV20 and I wouldn't have done that if I waited of their HV30.

As I am still learning its features, I always tend to look for videos that were captured using this cam. One of my favorites is this short clip I saw from youtube created with a cinematic look. Kinda neat actually.

Almost Spring...

For the past few days, our weather had been really gorgeous --- from the mid to high 70's. I can actually go out without wearing any additional layer of clothing on top of my regular clothes. So what does that mean? It's almost spring!!! Wooohooo!

Though springtime doesn't seem to stay longer with us here in AZ (as after a few weeks, we'd shoot up to the 90's then the scorching 3-digit temperature starts to creep in), for what it's worth, I still looooove springtime!
So before winter officially bid us goodbye, lemme post some pics we took when we drove up to the mountains to savor a bit of that icy white-ish powdery stuff we don't normally see around the Valley of the Sun... whatchamacallit again? Ohh, yeah... snow ;o) Yep people, there's snow in Arizona, quite surprising isn't it?

I'm In Love!!!

With heart pounding and matching dreamy eyes... here's another Canon that's making me drool these days...

*photos are not mine, courtesy of

The first ever digital camera I've had was a Canon Powershot G2. Got it in 2002 when I was in Malaysia where electronics stuff were pretty cheap. I love love love it and I still love it however, I think it's about time it should retire :o)

I'm a Canon fan so I don't have second thoughts about this... from the very beginning I knew this is what I wanted :o)

Nope, not ready for a digital SLR yet so this baby is good enough for me :o)
