I Almost Died!!!!

Ok, a little bit exaggerated alright but I really felt I almost died --- during my first day of Bikram Yoga class. Oh my goodness!!!

Bikram Yoga is the kind of yoga that everyone could pretty much do (in time) in a heated room (103F) because the poses are a bit simple. I tried yoga from the gym long ago and I didn't like it so I didn't care much about it until last week. I know I wanted to be healthy and maintain a sharper mind so I thought I'd try yoga this year. So I did my research and Bikram looked interesting to me, so I signed up.

Maaaaan, it was a 90 min session, in a 103F room with over 60 people. Everybody was sweating like crazy (reminds me of being in a sauna bath). Good thing there were mini breaks so we can sip some water before we proceed with the next pose. There was one time I had to stop for a second because I really thought I was going to pass out. Good thing I didn't.

There's this one pose called Supta Vaj Rasana which I couldn't do at all. Dang. My tush just can't stay put on the mat.

It was not easy for a first timer but I think I could get the hang of it. I promised myself I'd do it every single day for the next 30 days. Hmmmm.... doable?? I think so. The studio is just about 10 mins drive away from our place so I really think I can do this.

Now I have so much respect to people who takes Yoga class (my sister, for one) as it takes strong mental focus and correct breathing to be successful at it.

So tomorrow, I'm in for some serious yoga action at 6am. Ha!
