I Almost Died!!!!

Ok, a little bit exaggerated alright but I really felt I almost died --- during my first day of Bikram Yoga class. Oh my goodness!!!

Bikram Yoga is the kind of yoga that everyone could pretty much do (in time) in a heated room (103F) because the poses are a bit simple. I tried yoga from the gym long ago and I didn't like it so I didn't care much about it until last week. I know I wanted to be healthy and maintain a sharper mind so I thought I'd try yoga this year. So I did my research and Bikram looked interesting to me, so I signed up.

Maaaaan, it was a 90 min session, in a 103F room with over 60 people. Everybody was sweating like crazy (reminds me of being in a sauna bath). Good thing there were mini breaks so we can sip some water before we proceed with the next pose. There was one time I had to stop for a second because I really thought I was going to pass out. Good thing I didn't.

There's this one pose called Supta Vaj Rasana which I couldn't do at all. Dang. My tush just can't stay put on the mat.

It was not easy for a first timer but I think I could get the hang of it. I promised myself I'd do it every single day for the next 30 days. Hmmmm.... doable?? I think so. The studio is just about 10 mins drive away from our place so I really think I can do this.

Now I have so much respect to people who takes Yoga class (my sister, for one) as it takes strong mental focus and correct breathing to be successful at it.

So tomorrow, I'm in for some serious yoga action at 6am. Ha!

What Else Could Make My Day?

On my way back from the mall, I swung by the bakery to get a banana loaf bread for hubby. Since it was almost closing time, I bought the last 2 from the shelf. The elderly guy who rang me in was bubbly and must have appreciated that instead of just buying a loaf, I got 2. He then asked me if I like chocolates... haha. I told him, of course I LOVE CHOCOLATES, who doesn't? :o) To my surprise he put a huge chocolate chip cookie inside the paper bag with the loaves of banana bread and told me "Here's a cookie for you and it's on me!" Cool beans! Super nice gesture from a total stranger... kinda warmed my heart and made my day today.

I can't wait to blog about it so there. BUT... I still have something that REALLY REALLY made my day... wanna guess????

So this morning, while I wait for my dog's vet appointment, I clean up my desktop and got myself some cool, cutie icons from Apple downloads.

So now, here's what the icons on my desktop look like. Aren't they a bunch of cuties or what??? :o)

U2 in 3D!!!!

Last night was definitely something different from our usual movie nights. U2 3D was out in IMAX theaters since Thursday so I booked us seats for a Friday date to kinda wrap up the uber long week we had. I was flipping through the list of what we can possibly do that's a bit different but for some reason, I ended up choosing U2... heee. Good thing I did :o)

I'm not too much of a U2 fan but I like their music. So this is the closest we can get to Bono - watching them in 3D!! Oh man, gotta tell yah, it's almost real hubby & I found ourselves drowning into the obliviousness of their fans energy!!!!

WOW. That's all I can say man. That's all I can say.

Been Busy with this Video...

Sometime ago, one of my friends at work asked me to make a photomontage for her friend Niki's 40th birthday. Being a procrastinator, it took me 4 weekends to work on it so for the past month, my weekend was pretty much occupied putting this video together. Finally, I got my verdict yesterday from my friend. She and her friend's husband (who I've been coordinating with when it comes to getting all the pictures and some other info that I needed) saw the DVD and guess what was their reaction........ ha, I'd leave that to your imagination :o)

Niki's birthday party is set tonight and more than a hundred guests would be there. They rented a projector and screen and it's freaking me out a bit. It's the first time my video's going to be played in front of guests. Well, as long as the birthday girl would appreciate it then I would be the happiest frog leaping on my lilly pads. So after tonight, I guess I'd just have to wait and see :o)

I used similar, if not the same, templates I used to work on my previous videos. My main focus were the short funny scenes in between the photo "slides". I also got the comic strip idea (from the very beginning of the video) from Thet, my fellow blogger, who used this style on one of her wedding videos :o) Thanks missie! Some graphics I used I downloaded from Google 3d Warehouse. "Candy Girl" mp3 courtesy of Niki's hubby. All sound fx's were taken cared by my ever supportive hubby. I hate editing sound fx's and hubby used to work on this kinda stuff when he was a radio DJ back in Hawaii, so this comes super easy for him, plus the fact that this is something he enjoys doing. Hey, now that I think about it, isn't that cool?? Hubby and I really complement each other!!! Haha, I guess I have to save that for a different blog entry :o)

As of this writing, I haven't enabled the public setting for this video that's why embedding it here would only say "Video no longer available", but I created a secret link so I can share this with my friends. I don't want to fully publish it until Niki's party is over, which is tonight :o) So if you're interested how the photomontage looks like, you can view it HERE.

Testing My Patience

I almost hit the limit of my patience today I thought I'd walk away and quit my job. Dang. I wasted 2.5 hours (or could be more than that) because my stupid test program hangs up in the middle of my validation. We just shifted to a new tester platform (sorry I can't think of any other layman terms to describe stuff I do at work) which uses the crappy Windows OS. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

Ok, in case you're wondering, here's what's on my screen. I tried to reset it, reset it once more and reset it for the nth time and it always get stuck like that. I hate that stupid IG-XL software from Teradyne. Arrrgggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

So yeah, tell me who wouldn't have gone bezerk with this. Go away Bill Gates... or whoever invented the Teradyne IG/XL software and thought that it was a good idea to make it Windows based &*%$#)(@!

It's 2008!!!!

Happy 2008!!!!

Thanks to everyone who came by to leave a note and greeted me, really appreciate it :o) I know this is a bit late for a New Year post, lotsa things going on at work and at home so I don't get to check my blog as often as I used to :o(

Man, this is the 2nd year as married couple that we celebrated New Year without our family with us. I don't think I could ever get used to a very quiet New Year's eve. I terribly miss my family back home, it's just soooo different. We have a weird tradition of opening Christmas gifts on New Year's eve - right after the media noche, haha. So we're really used to a fun family gathering every new year.

Good thing hubby has a few Pinoy friends who invited us over for a small get together. Of course, it's not a real Pinoy celebration without videoke in the picture, haha. Gosh, if only I could sing, bummer. Hubby cannot sing as well HOWEVER, he still thinks he can. He would choose the fun & upbeat songs so people wouldn't get bored and they can sing along. I always always get embarassed whenever he sings and this video would prove why (I'm just so bad). However, I got used to people loving and enjoying the whole videoke experience the moment he gets hold of the mic so now I let him sing with the crowd, heheheee :o)

Yep, that's my hubby singing... and yep, I still love him to the core :o)
