Horton Hears A Who

I'm sure everyone is getting excited with Blue Sky's latest animated movie - "Horton Hears A Who". I've been sooo excited about this since one of the guys who graduated from the same animation school I am going to go to worked with Blue Sky in this movie. Kinda cool :o)

Jim Carrey's character (the elephant) reminds me so much of our own Chewy, especially at the last part of the trailer when he's crossing the wooden bridge, haha. Both of them have big butts that for sure, heheee! The details of this movie is just impeccable. I wonder how long did it take for them to render the whole thing? Totally an eye feast dude! Can't wait to see this on the big screen!

iLove Justin Long!

So even if Justin Long (Hi, I'm a Mac!) is a cartoon character, he's still dang cute :o) First time I really noticed him was when he co-starred with LiLo (Lindsay Lohan) in Herbie. Well, his role there was a uber cutie mechanic so how can I not go gaga?

Anyhoo, I just love Apple's Christmas ad these days with Justin still ruggedly handsome in his straight cut jeans and casual shirt :o) Go mac go mac go mac go!!!

There's a bunch of Apple ad's that I really really love cuz they're just hilarious. One of my faves is the one with Gisele Bundchen. Soooo funny and soooo true :o)

How's Your Christmas?

Ours was nothing grand. We just had some pancit and lumpiang shanghai, some gigantic cake and vanilla ice cream for dessert after the Christmas mass. Then we went to checkout Zoolights at the Phoenix Zoo after the sunset. I have lots to be thankful of - my santa, santa's little helper and a giant snowflake :o) I am just so blessed. Merry Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Christmassy!

Yahoo!!! We finally got our Christmas tree setup over the weekend. I know, kinda a bit late already. It's just a simple tree with not so much ornaments in it yet. We plan to collect ornaments throughout our lives together every Christmas and hang it on our tree :o) I already got hubby an ornament for this year. I hope he wouldn't forget to get one for me :o)

Since we're feeling Christmassy, we decided to drive around the neighborhood to enjoy the Christmas lights display in front of the houses. Last year, we came across these 2 neighbors a few miles from our house who had this uber nice display of inflatables. Sooo cool we decided we'd check them out again this year. Checkout the video we took :O)

Merry Christmas everyone!!

Bayang Magiliw

Errr, Lupang Hinirang pala :o) While we were in the queue for the boat to the Statue of Liberty, we came across this elderly guy playing the Phils National Anthem on his violin. Interesting, isn't it? He knew we're Filipinos so the instant he saw us, he started playing the song. Pretty cool. Left him some tip for that, of course :o) Galing!

A Rescue Dog's Christmas Poem

Happy Holidays everyone! I'm sure most of us had been bitten by the holiday bug already and it's just so easy to get tangled up with hustle and bustle of the Christmas season.

I, for one, made sure that I got everything done in time before Christmas. Got all the cards sent, gift shopping done on my list not forgetting some little gifts I have for my 2 waggly tailed "babies".

While I was surfing online for some cutie holiday stuff for the "kids", I came across this poem that touched my heart. It's a poem written on a rescue dog's perspective. I know for sure that there's a lot of people out there who might be giving pets as gifts this Christmas and I am definitely not a fan of that. There are countless homeless/rescue animals waiting for someone who love and be a part of a family.

Chewy, our sweet giant, is a rescue dog. I dunno how a charming and loving dog like him ended in a pound. Imagine what could have been his fate if nobody paid attention and just left him there. Skye is also a rescue dog before we got her from her previous owner who migrated to UK. They are good dogs and it saddens me whenever I think of other animals like them who are no longer wanted and were just left in the shelters.

I hope this serves as a reminder to us that if you're considering a new pet, please adopt. One animal rescued from the shelter is one life being saved from the thousands of unwanted animals being euthanized each day.

Please people, let's give these homeless animals a chance to live and be loved again. Merry merry Christmas!

A Rescue Dog's Christmas Poem

Tis the night before Christmas and all through the town,
every shelter is full - we are lost, but not found,
Our numbers are hung on our kennels so bare,
we hope every minute that someone will care,
They'll come to adopt us and give us the call,
"Come here, Max and Sparkie - come fetch your new ball!!
But now we sit here and think of the days...
we were treated so fondly - we had cute, baby ways,
Once we were little, then we grew and we grew
now we're no longer young and we're no longer new.
So out the back door we were thrown like the trash,
they reacted so quickly - why were they so rash?
We "jump on the children:, "don't come when they call",
we "bark when they leave us", climb over the wall.
We should have been neutered, we should have been spayed,
now we suffer the consequence of the errors THEY made.
If only they'd trained us, if only we knew...
we'd have done what they asked us and worshiped them, too.
We were left in the backyard, or worse -let to roam-
now we're tired and lonely and out of a home.
They dropped us off here and they kissed us good-bye...
"Maybe someone else will give you a try."
So now here we are, all confused and alone...
in a shelter with others who long for a home.
The kind workers come through with a meal and a pat,
with so many to care for, they can't stay to chat,
They move to the next kennel, giving each of us cheer...
we know that they wonder how long we'll be here.
We lay down to sleep and sweet dreams fill our heads...
of a home filled with love and our own cozy beds.
Then we wake to see sad eyes, brimming with tears -
our friends filled with emptiness, worry, and fear.
If you can't adopt us and there's no room at the Inn -
could you help with the bills and fill our food bin?
We count on your kindness each day of the year -
can you give more than hope to everyone here?
Please make a donation to pay for the heat...
and help get us something special to eat.
The shelter that cares for us wants us to live,
and more of us will, if more people will give.

Ups and Downs...

Downers:
When I came back to work from vacation last week, I was greeted with hallways of empty cubicles and workmates who were eager to tell me what happened. Our company just laid off some 80+ employees just here in Chandler, plus some more from other sites (Israel, Santa Clara CA, Austin TX) when I was gone.

From our department, only 1 was let go - my previous boss. Even if he's not the best boss, I still feel so bad that they had to let him go. I dunno who and how they hand picked who's going or who's staying.

Today, all of those who were let go, came back to the office for their exit interview and to pack-up some of their personal stuff from their cubicles. I swung by when I heard him in his cube and I said hi. I felt that he's on an emotional state as he packed his stuff. He and most of the guys who were let go served like more than 20 years when we were all with Intel. Imagine how it could be like to be out looking for a job again after all those years.
Sigh.

This is the 2nd time for the life of me that I've personally witnessed downsizing this close. We've been spoiled by Intel being so stable for so long and we got comfortable with it until one day Intel decided to sell our whole group to Marvell. A name I've always associated with comic heroes. I never heard of it as a semiconductor company until that day that Intel made the announcement that shocked the world.

A little over a year after the transition to Marvell is over, they decided to downsize by 7% and our site here in AZ was badly hit.

Sad. Sad. Sad.

Uppers
:

I get to hangout with some of my girlfriends at work Thursday last week. There's 5 of us girls who kinda bonded after working together while we're all with Intel. Though one of the girls, K, moved to Folsom in California a year ago and the other one, D, moved to a new job early this year. So for this get together, there's just 4 of us who could make it as the other one is in California.

It was fun hanging out with them, good food, good laughs. Some needed time out of work after all the stress from the recent downsizing.
When we're about to bid our goodbyes, one of the gals - S, who's the youngest and the easy-go-lucky-party-gal from our group, had some good news to tell us. She broke the news that they're 15 weeks pregnant!! It was sooo funnny cuz she always jokes about things so the first thing we had in mind was she was just messing with us. Haha, of course until she showed us her belly. We'll she's been skinny and she can always hide from oversized sweaters she's been sporting for the past month or so. Maaan, she's just not a mommy material to us. Haha, she always tell us that she never wouldnt want to have kids until much much later. Then here she go, 15 weeks on the way! About time to hear some happy news :o)

I'm Back!

Hey, it's December already and I'm back, still alive and kicking after our Thanksgiving vacation :o)

We've been all over and it's been a bit crazy trying to squeeze in so many places to go to with so little time we've had in our hands, heee.

So I brought my sister and her friend, George, to Sedona and Grand Canyon for a short trip on her first day here in the US. It's good that we had an awesome weather here in AZ during fall so it was not too warm and not too cold either when we checked out these tourist-y spots here. Grand Canyon, as what its name says, is just sooOOOoo grand and majestic. The colors of the canyon differ during the day so we had tons of awesome photo shoot opportunity. There's no word fitting enough to justify its beauty. Best is to see the canyon in person.

Sedona, has its own beauty and personality to boast about as well. But for me, going there for a day trip is good enough. Anything longer than that could bore me to death.

The following day, my sister and G flew to New York. Hubby & I flew the day after. We stayed at the city for a couple of days, with our hotel a few blocks from where Ground Zero is (see picture below taken from our hotel). The empty lots at the back of the 2 buildings in front of the pic is Ground Zero.

We gushed through Times Square, Central Park, Statue of Liberty, Rockefeller and the Empire State Building in less than 2 days!!!! We have tons of pictures I can't even begin to think which ones to post here. I'd just probably choose 1 picture for every place we visited :o)

Times Square's awesome with everyone getting ready for the Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. Sooooo beautiful at night!!!

It was super late at night when we decided to go checkout the Empire State Building. Good thing we came at the right time since there's no queue at all! What usually takes 2 to 4 hours to line up for the tickets and then go up the building itself only took us less than 10 mins! Awesome view at night man... and not to mention, it's kinda chilly up there too! Here's the view from atop.

We also went to the Rockefeller Center but we didn't get to enter the building. It was kinda late already when we got there. They were currently setting up a huge Christmas Tree that they're going to light up a few days later. As usual, there were a lot of people on the skating rink. Sooo romantic, heee :o)

St Patrick's Church is also a must for us. The architecture of this church never fails to leave me breathless. Ganda talaga.

Of course, anyone who goes to New York would always have the Statue of Liberty in their itenerary? I never thought I would ever see her in the flesh! She's gorgeously green!!! I guess the 2 hours of wait was definitely worth it! We had to take a boat to get to the island. It was some experience alright, seeing the Manhattan Skyline as the boat moves towards the Liberty island is just fantastic! When we got there, we didn't get to go up to the top because there's only so much people per day that they can allow to go up and sad to say, we didn't make it on time. But hey, all is cool :o)

Central Park is huge!!!! I soooo love it, if we only had more time, I wouldn't mind going back there to checkout the rest of the park. Autumn is indeed a big thing in NY with most trees in sight turning from green to orange, burgundy, brown, yellow. Soooo beautiful. Can't see those from where I came from that's for sure, haha!

Our visit to NYC wouldn't be complete if we didn't get to try an original NY pizza!!! As hubby was craving for some, George's cousins brought us to this pizza place with the most mouth watering pasta and pizza I've ever tried. Seriously, everything tasted soooo dang good!! Yum! Thanks Di & Erika the bunso!

We were going to visit the Serendipity cafe (you know, that restaurant that became famous because of the movie Serendipity?) Too bad we got to know that it was shutdown a week before we got there because of some "health concerns" brought up by the guests. Apparently, there were rats and roaches found in the restaurant so the health inspector ordered for it to close down. Ewwww.

On Thanksgiving day, we drove upstate to Red Hook to visit our uncle and auntie. It was our first "break" after 2 days of going around the city. It's the very first Thanksgiving I've ever had with real family so it's something I would always remember.

Next day, we drove further up to Niagara, Canada side. But I'm going to write all about it in my next entry :o) It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip - seeing our niece Aeya and our ate after almost 3 years!!! It's going to be the blog entry I would want to spend time documenting every detail. Isn't she the most adorable pink fur ball ever?

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!

Happy Thanksgiving family and friends!!!!

Sorry I've been M.I.A. for quite sometime. We're in the Big Apple since Tuesday and it's been super crazy for us (in a good way though, haha!). Now we're heading off to Canada (Niagara Falls area) to visit our niece and older sister, heee. It's been 4 years since I last saw them so we're pretty excited.

Before flying to New York, I was in Sedona and Grand Canyon cuz my baby sister came over with her boyfriend to our place in Arizona. So naturally, I'm the official tour guide. Then after that we headed off to New York. Goodness, we have a super busy schedule I think I'm going to fall sick.

Anyhoo, I just sneaked in and used my tita's computer to update my blog for now. And yes I have tons of pictures to share and videos to upload when we come back :o)

Have a blessed Thanksgiving everyone!! Hugs!!!

The Parable of the Stickered Wemmicks

I was bloghopping this morning and I bumped into Parisukat's blog. His blog would always have something that makes me want to visit it every so often. So today, sure enough, one of his posts truly moved me.

He shared this story by Max Lucado - The Parable of the Stickered Wemmicks. Hope you'd take sometime to check it out. It's a slap on my face, a reminder that what truly matters at the end of the day is how we're special in the eyes of God.

Thanks Lex!

Indoor Skydive

Sometime July, hubby and I went to Eloy and tried indoor skydiving. I said I'm going to share the video once I'm done with it. Finally, it's here. I didn't put too much of an effort putting this together since I'm being attacked with laziness, heee. So sorry if it's a bit lousy.. heee :o)

One Day... at the Podcamp...

I love listening to podcasts, watching video blogs and such. I get to learn so much about the specific topics I'm interested in... best of all, they're free!!! My favorites mostly comprise of video-editing software how to's as well as animation-related podcasts. So I subscribe to a few and whenever I get some free time, I watch them (if there's video prez) or listen to them with my ipod and that's it! Tons of ways to learn new things beyond books these days :o) LoOOOooove it!

This coming Saturday, Nov 3, Podcamp AZ will be held in Phoenix. Podcamp started in Boston, Massachusetts sometime last year and is now widespread among several US states and around the world. There, you can get together with fellow techie geeks who are passionate about the internet videos, blogging, new media, etc etc. Good networking opportunity if I may say.

There are 2 things in there that I know I wouldn't want to miss. First, iJustine is going to be there (you know, the iPhone gal who had her viral video all over the internet because she just got her 300 page iPhone bill from ATT??). I've been a fan of her website even before she became an internet celebrity because she's a mac fanatic as well. So, I would get to meet her there if ever! Then this video genius guy of Izzy Video whose website I usually checkout because of his awesome tips and tricks on video editing and such. He's one of the presentors and it's an opportunity of a lifetime! Goodness gracious great balls of fire!!!!

What's holding me is I dont know anybody there and I dont know who can I tag along with me so I wouldn't look too pathetic that I am coming just by myself. I mean, what if they're all snubs? Hmmm.

Anyways, I still have sometime to think of it and get registered. Should I go?????? If I don't, I know I might regret it!!! Bummer....

Anniversary!

Today marks our 1 yr church wedding anniversary!! Yahoo! Well, technically, we've been married for a little over 2 years now but we decided we'd celebrate both anniversaries :o)

Hubby gave me a bouquet of flowers 2am-ish on Sun (cuz he thought our anniversary was Oct 28). I thought I should feel bad about it that he didn't remember the exact date, but for some reason, I was ok with it. Not a big deal. Maybe it's going to be a big deal if he forgot the exact date we got married legally, haha :o)

We didn't do anything fancy though. We just went to Benihana's for some Tepanyaki action and some sushis since hubby was craving for some.

Sometime last year, I remembered we were in Bohol with my sister, brother & future sis-in-law, heeee :o) Right afte
r our wedding, we flew in the wee hours of the morning to Bohol. Maaaan, it was tiring alright, but we needed some well deserved break. We had a great time!

Wow, I realized that we had so many things going on that we didn't realize how fast a year had gone by. We adopted Chewy, we were able to iron out our career goals, we realized how it's like to become homeowners with all the house-related maintenance we got to do ourselves... hmmm... I wonder how we would be like 5 or 10 years from now? Would we be living in the same house? Would we have kids? Would Skye & Chewy be as rambunctious as they are? So many uncertain things. But you know what, however scary it is, I know that so long as we have each other, with God's grace, we can conquer whatever lies ahead.

Happy anniversary sweeps!

Automatic Pet Feeder Update

And so we finally got the most awaited automatic pet feeder I ordered online the other day :o) Well, I did a little explaining here and there and thank goodness for my wits and wifey charms (heeeheeeee) that I was able to convince hubby that we really needed it :o) Though I ordered 2 units, I am happy that hubby ok'd for us to get even just 1. So the "kids" might share (no choice for now since 2 is too pricey for us).

We just started our little "experiment" to see if they would like it so now they're still adjusting. Skye didn't like Chewy to be eating close to her so what happens is we let Skye eat her share first then Chewy. It's a little confusing but hopefully, they'd get used to it.

Anyhoo, I did a little video when we tried the Perfect Petfeeder for the first time after we charged up the batteries :o)

A Day at the Park

It was a nice today, not too cold, not too warm (mid 80's). We were really scheduled to go out with the dogs as we were invited to the annual adopters picnic sponsored by R.E.S.C.U.E where we got Chewy from :o) So we stopped by to say hello to the volunteers who took care of Chewy before we adopted him.

It was held in a super cool park not too far off from our place. Good thing we came or else we wouldn't have known that it ever existed. It's a huge park but what I like the most is the lake. You can boat, you can fish, you can stay there for some bbq action or picnic with family. Soooo nice!

I didn't get to snap that much pictures but checkout what I've got here :o)

the kids were actually staring at this little creature here

Hold That Leopard!!!!

One more day and Apple's latest Mac O/S X is here - the Leopard!!!

I've been waiting for months and months... sooo near yet soooo far. Tomorrow is the day it would be officially become available to the mortals like moi! Wooohoooo!

I know a lot of mac users out there have been waiting for the day we can all take a bite of this sweet stuff. My personal favorite is the new SPACE feature as well as the TIME MACHINE. Space reminds me of Solaris' feature where I can divide the screen into how many windows I want and put all my work that are related to each specific "space". It's somewhere along 14:00 from the video. TIME MACHINE allows me to automatically backup my files and go directly to the backup of a latest version of my file for retrieval if needed. Sooo cool!

To my friend O, who is one of the first ones I know who upgraded his PC's OS to uhmmm whatchamacallit... Vista, is it? Heee, checkout Leopard's video tour below and I'm sure you'd want to go get a Mac pronto :o) Peace my friend... haha!

I'm a Dead Meat!!!!!

When sweeps finds out what I got myself into, surely, he's going to go nuts! Waaahhh!

I'm super stressed out lately because there's so many things we had to take care of in preparation for our upcoming vacation. For the most part, it's the "kids" that I'm worried about. Who's going to take care of them while we're gone? I didn't want to leave them to the vet's boarding kennel because they only have a small cage to share together for the entire time that we're out. They only get to go out when they use the bathroom, it's going to be stressful for them as it is for us thinking about it.

I also thought the petsitter idea would be great, however, hubby is not too comfortable letting some stranger come in our house to feed the dogs. Although they're insured and bonded, we still don't know what could possibly happen, right?

I already talked to some of my friends if they can come over to our house twice a day to feed them in the morning and in the evening. I'm so relieved and thankful with this when they agreed but then I still feel I need to do something on top of that so I have more control over how they're being fed. I know I would end up thinking about what's going on at home while we're out (sheesh, what a control freak!)

Then I thought there should be an automatic pet feeder out there that could save me from some anxiety attack!! So in my quest for looking for a quality automatic pet feeder available in the market, I came across with The Perfect Petfeeder website. After reading review after review for the past several weeks... I was sold!

The features are great, I can program this robot to dispense whatever amount of kibble I want several times a day. I'm excited that finally, I wouldn't have to worry about coming home late and not being able to feed the "kids" on time. Plus, that means we can go out of town whenever we decide we want to without having to plan like months ahead. We have no choice ever since we had pets because we have to consider boarding them when we leave so we haven't really gone out of town right off the bat as how we're accustomed before.

Now, why am I a dead meat????? Because the price of this thing is waaaaaaaaayyyy expensive - a whooping $499!!! For a dog feeder?????!!!!! I'm really nuts buying it but I got this forward looking of what it could cost us in the long run. I know at the end of the day, it would save us money and stress.

As of this writing, I got an email that they already had it shipped. When my hubby finds out how much I've paid for it, I know I'm going to get some serious "talk". I might be the one sleeping on the couch this time... uh-oh :o(

Well, it has a 35 day money back guarantee, so we can always return it back if we end up not liking it at all.

Goodness, what the heck is wrong with me???!!! Dang it!!! For the love of the dogs....

Bored

I didn't get to go out today cuz of the list of chores I had to do at home, bummer :o( So while I was doing the laundry and taking some break from cleaning up the entirety of our house, I sat down in front of my computer and worked on our wedding artbook and made a photomontage sorta thing out of it.

So, here's the result of my boredom and thanks to Colbie Callait for her "Bubbly" song! I just really love this song a lot! I hope they wouldn't have to play it too much on the radio. It's actually where I got the "crinklynose" thingie I am thinking of using as my online alias for my future 3D projects end credit, heheee. Why? Cuz I realize I do always crinkle my nose whenever I see things that make me happy and smile about. Just like the way I feel whenever I get to work on my animations and such. Heee :o)

Sending Money to the Philippines

I know a lot of Pinoys overseas can relate to this. I think it's more of like a Filipino thing, like we take the responsibility of sending money to our loved ones in the Philippines because we know that life is hard back home and a little cash could help a lot. One time I went to WU online (Western Union) and they even have a separate drop down menu for Philippine transfers. So I'm guessing it's really a Filipino thing :o)

Anyways, I am one of the many Filipino subscribers of Happy Slip from Youtube. She came out with this funny ad for Xoom.com - a faster and cheaper way of sending those hard earned funds to our loved ones to the Philippines. I haven't tried this yet but I've heard about this for quite sometime now since a lot of my Pinoy friends here use it.

Anyhoo, here's the latest viral video of Happy Slip about Xoom in the Filipino community from Youtube. Hilarious!!! Great job Christine!!!

Stuttering

July 18, 2004, it was a Tuesday, he came and brought me flowers after my badminton game. He dropped me off to my apartment and before he left, he told me he liked me a lot. That was the first time sweeps & I kissed. And time stood still. I've been waiting for the time he would finally ask me if I can be his girlfriend. So can you imagine the sparks and all that time when he said he wanted us to be more than just friends?

It's been a little over 3 years after that kilig moment and I still feel the bolts and thunder every time he kisses me (that is if I'm not mad at him or something, haha). This super cute song from Dentyne Ice tv ad always reminds me of that first kiss with my hubby. I've been searching hi and lo for thi-thi-thi-thi-this so-so-so-song and i'm so i'm so i'm so ecs-ecs-ecs-tatic to finally fou-fou-fou-found it! Haaaay.... kilig pa rin :o)

Stutteting by Ben's Brother

[Verse 1:]
It's been, it's been, it's been, it's been
su-su-such a long time, long time, long time
since anybody touched me, touched me, touched me
the way that you touch me
So if I stutter, stutter, stutter
and I feel so so so unsexy
so maybe I'll just keep my mouth shut at least until you kiss me

[Chorus:]
So kiss me again
Cause only you can stop this stut-stut-stut-stuttering
Kiss me again
And ease my su-su su-su su-su su-su-su- suffering

[Verse 2:]
I know I know
it's sy it's sy-sy-symbolic of everything
Everything that's wrong with me and you
So tell me what I'm supposed to do
Oh it's been ages since we've been really honest
but I can make ch-ch-ch-changes if you really want this

[Chorus]
So kiss me again
Cause only you can stop this stut-stut-stut-stuttering
Kiss me again
And ease my *su-su su-su su-su su-su-su- suffering

Kiss me again
Cause only you can stop this stut-stut-stut-stut-stuttering
Kiss me again
And ease my su-su su-su su-su su-su-su- suffering

Kiss me again

Whatever Happened to the Philippines?

Today I got an email from my DLSU-ECE batch yahoo group about this disturbing "Gang" thingie going on sabotaging motorists in the Philippines.

Pls take some time to read this series of emails passed around to warn people about the severity of this issue. I forwarded this to my family and my friends back home. The more I see things like these happen, the clearer it is to me that I should start doing something to keep my family away from these kinda stuff. I just got to bring them somewhere safer... somewhere closer to me...

Whatever happened to our country? Very saddening indeed. I feel so helpless...

Friends, read on and please take care always...

For the general commuting public, maging driver ka man o hindi....

*************************

Three days ago my driver had an encounter in this area. After
dropping me off at work, the driver was on the south bound lane of
South Super Highway near the home along the riles housing (near
Sunday Machine Works and Designer Depot). As he came to a full stop
at the San Andres intersection stoplight, a man approached the
car's rear passenger side, grabbed the car's antenna and broke it.
The man remained beside the car, apparently waiting for the driver
to get down and confront him.
Fortunately, the driver remembered my dad's warnings regarding
these types of M.O.s and remained in the car. As the driver sped
away, he noticed a group of men on the center island. It pays to be
praning,

Yes, I have witnessed a similar incident, maybe about a month
ago, and reported it immediately to Police 117. A young man tried
to open the passenger door of the taxi in front of me. About three
or four girls were inside the taxi at that time. Fortunately, the
door was locked. I pass this route coming from Malacanang every
night. Fortunately for me too, my car is heavily tinted so I am not
easy prey. I shall call 117 again. I suggest you do the same.
Although I don't know if that would really help.

Office of the Chief Presidential Legal Counsel

A similar incident happened to me along Quirino Avenue
somewhere between the Flying V gas station and Iglesia ni Kristo. 3
men approached my car IN BROAD DAYLIGHT! and SLOW TRAFFIC! and
tried to open the back doors. Bumusina ako ng tuloy tuloy to BR
ward them off. It's scary 'coz that area has no patrolling
policemen. When they failed to open my car, they tried the other
cars naman. I don't know kung may nabuksan sila.
Then yesterday, while the PMAP rally was going on along Buendia cor.
Ayala, as I was about to cross that intersection, two of the
rallyists tried to open my car doors again. Again in BROAD
DAYLIGHT! WITH A POLICEMAN AROUND! Hay, what the world has come to.
I suggest you lock up and make a lot of noise to at least rattle
those thieves.

mga tsong this really happend last wednesday, September sept.
10.... and i hope u would take time in reading this........ I came from
makati and was driving along south super highway (osmena hiway)
going towards manila area, nung dumating ako sa maliit na bridge
before the DESIGNER DEPOT, ung maliit na bazaar of clothes (corner
quirino ave and osmena hiway) , if ur coming from makati and u took bu endia or pablo
ocampo, mauuna ung bridge before DESIGNER DEPOT ung nasa harap ko
is a gold honda civic, all of a sudden may mga lumabas na around 6
or 7 guys who obviously look like squatters who reside along the
riles and biglang tinambangan ung civic, pinagsisipa, pinagyug-yug,
pinagkukutkot ung susian and they were successful in opening the
doors, tapos nagulat na lang ako isa isa nilang nilabas ung mga
gamit na nasa loob nung civic cds, bags, etc. im not sure kung ung
driver is a girl or a boy , pero ung driver tinutukan ng
kutsilyo... in short parang kinuyob ung civic, btw, ako and ung
civic during that time(mga 830 - 9 pm) ay nasa right most ng
lane... meaning right side lang namin ung lakaran ng tao.....
after robbing... they immediately jump off the bridge and went away.....
dami nakakita nun pero isang taxi driver lang ang tumigil to check
ung condition ng driver.... nga pala, may oner na nasa harap ng
katabi ng civic, sakay ay mga pulis, 2 lang ata yun,,, naka purple
na uniform (manila police)...... i dont know kung nakita nila yung
incident na yun....pero sa tingin ko naman makikita nila yun...
natakot lang dahil 2 lang sila eh and their rusty pistols.... just
a friendly warning mga tsong..... kung mag-isa kayo and mejo kita
kayo sa loob ng kotse nyo (kahit ano pa yang kotse nyo, luma or
bago) try to avoid muna if possible ung osmena hiway at night or
better yet try to have another route kasi mejo nagpaparamdam na
naman ung mga modus operandi na tulad nun dahil pasko na ulet. if
any of u guys have contact sa manila police, paki inform naman sila
or just spread this news.... its for all us naman eh... peace!

Ingat kayo when passing through south super highway cor quirino ave.
On our way home from Makati, we took buendia then turn right to
south superhighway, it was only 8pm and it was drizzling. we were
cruising fine but it was a slow moving traffic. right after san
andres st, there are these buildings which are modern version of
home along the riles (near the designers depot), my wife screamed
because somebody was trying to open the car from her side. sensing
that it was locked he moved to the back door and tried to open it
likewise, we were stocked in traffic and i was stunned that i could
not think of anything to do but just look at him. so when finally
the traffic moved he also moved away casually tucking the gun in
his belly and staring at me as if saying you are lucky you locked
your door. thank GOD my wife is so makulit in reminding me to lock
the door evertime we go. kaya to all you people beware of that
place. Actually you should be alert & be cautious when passing
through south superhighway all the way to nagtahan.

Always better safe than sorry... forewarned is forearmed... mga
riles from Fabie, taga-Texas, taga-Muñoz, taga-Mataas na Lupa at
sampaguita) wag din kayo tatawid dun dahil puro rugby boys and
girls ang nakaupo run! ang masakit, walang ginagawa yung police
detachment diyan! sana makatulong ng konti

Almost Fall...

It's finally in the low 70's early in the morning whenever I get up. This means that fall is almost here... here in the Valley of the Sun, the Grand Canyon State where it's always sunny and summer means you can fry an egg on the pavement under the scorching heat of the mighty sun. Haaay.

Time indeed flies soooo fast. I love autumn. It's my favorite time of the year - lotsa colors, lotsa nice clothes to wear, haha! I remembered this time last year, we were preparing to fly back to the Phils for our chruch wedding. Can you imagine, it's been almost a year already???!!! Goodness! I didn't realize that actually until one time I went shopping and all the decor around is autumn-y... harvest-y.... orange-y.... wow.

This time last year I was going gaga last minute to find autumn details that could add to the feel of our wedding... gosh... it's been a year na pala... another year had come and go, why so fast huh? Shoot, I'm getting old. Dang.

This is one of those days when I didn't want to think of anything else... with no worries on my mind... me leaning on hubby's chest and the dogs are just behaved happily contented lying down beside me....

I need some serious break.... can't wait for my sister to come over for Thanksgiving.

Apple-y

Hubby forwarded me this article from GIZMODO about this guy collecting everything Apple for the past 5 yrs or so. He has a showroom full of Apple treasures he got through the years. I'm totally impressed.

For Apple fanatics, I'm sure everyone would go ballistic when they'd see this :o)

To Siops & Siops

3 years ago, when hubby and I were still just going out, he text'd me a part of the lyrics of this particular song to me:

How did you know
I needed someone like you in my life
That there was an empty space in my heart
You came at the right time in my life
I'd never forget how you brought the sun to shine in my life
You took all the worries and fears that I had
I guess what im really trying to say
Its not everyday that someone like you comes my way
No words can express how much I love you

I thought it's kinda familiar, but I also thought that there is no way we're thinking of the same song firstly because I know it's an OPM. There is no way he could have randomly heard it somewhere and just thought of sending its lyrics to me unless he did some researching. Hmmm. I didn't get to think too much about it since I can't remember at the top of my head what was the title of that song. I thought I'd figure it out later as me and my friends were heading off for lunch to that Filipino house whose owner cooks for us Pinoy relocatees here in Chandler.

During lunch, we got together with one of my friends who just came back from the Phils and he brought with him a movie with Aga Mulach and Kristin Hermosa so we decided to just watch it while we were there altogether. The moment he popped in the DVD cold chills ran up and down my spine as the song that's being played was the same song as what sweeps had just text'd me that morning. It was INSANE!!!!! Was that just a coincidence or what? I thought it was a sign. Goodness, super kilig ako nun! From then on this song have had a special meaning to me. Now, as I type this entry to my blog, I am listening to the same song by Gary Valenciano. I still feel like crying, it never fails to touch me.

So you might proabably ask what the title of my entry for today has got anything to do with this song. Heee, it's because I know a pair of loveydoveydoos whose term of endearment with each other is "Siops" (don't ask me why) and I would like to dedicate this song to their budding relationship :o) Kilig kasi e. So to Team Siops, here's Gary V's rendition of this song "How Did You Know". I really wish the best for you both. You deserve to be happy. Cheers!

I remember so well the day that you came into my life
You asked for my name
You had the most beautiful smile

My life started to change
I'd wake up each day feeling alright
With you right by my side
Makes me feel things will work out just fine

How did you know
I needed someone like you in my life
That there's an empty space in my heart
You came at the right time in my life

I'll never forget
How you brought the sun to shine in my life
And took all the worries and fears that I had
I guess what I'm really trying to say
It's not everyday that someone like you comes my way
No words can express how much I love you

How did you know
I needed someone like you in my life
That there's an empty space in my heart
You came at the right time in my life

I'll never forget
How you brought the sun to shine in my life
And took all the worries and fears that I had
I guess what I'm really trying to say
It's not everyday that someone like you comes my way
No words can express how much I love you..

Busy Bees

Finally I was able to take a breather so I decided I'd post an entry to my ho-hum-getting-stale blog. Gosh, I don't even know where to begin.

Well first, I got all the requirements to the animation school submitted, which is good, at least one less thing to worry about. I hope everything's good to go by Jan 7 (start of Winter 2008 term).

Second, we've been really really busy organizing around the house. Hubby built some additional shelves in the closet since we badly need some usable space in that area of our bedroom. We also got our computer room cleaned up as well. All of hubby's old record collection are now neatly arranged in 2 bookshelves we got from where else, but the good 'ol IKEA. We've been hanging out in IKEA during the weekends for the past few weeks trying to see if we can bump into some good finds. True enough, we found these cool bookshelves just perfect for hubby's vinyl record collection. We have yet to find a corner office desk so we might go back there this weekend. With this we have to re-route out network cables and all so everything would be neatly arranged.

My sister from Singapore is also coming to visit us this Thanksgiving as well so we're trying to free up the guestroom from the boxes we have yet to unpack from our move last year. So with that, we have to find a place for those boxes. That's when we decided to get a Tuff Shed installed for us at the backyard. So last Monday, the Tuff Shed guys came and installed the shed for us. Of course what's the next thing we had to do after they got it installed??? We had to kick our butts to move the unopened boxes we had and arrange them nicely in the shed. Whew. We're not even close to being done. We still have a lot of stuff to move in there.

Third, since we're going for a short vacation this coming Thanksgiving, so we had to book our tickets and look for pet sitters for the "kids" so we wouldn't have to leave them in a boarding kennel while we're gone. I'm glad I found out about this petsitting service that was highly recommended by the animal rescue group we got Chewy from. So instead of leaving the kids to a boarding kennel (which would add tremendous stress for the kids), the pet sitter would just come over to our place a few times a day to take care of the kids while we're away. Plus they can water our plants, collect our mail, turn the lights on/off etc. We just made a reservation for the whole of Thanksgiving week, but we haven't met the actual sitter yet. So I'd take care of that this coming Oct.

Prior to all these though, we've been uber busy looking for a bigger car. Of course, we didn't want a brand new vehicle just so we have this philosophy about being practical when it comes to buying things that could easily depreciate. So after all the search, we found this baby which I've been driving for about a month now. It's a 96 Isuzu Rodeo, 2WD, all leather seats with moonroof, complete tow package, cd changer, etc etc. It's a pretty good deal we got for $3200. The only thing though is that it eats a lot of gas so I can't come back home for lunch as I used to. And Chewy is having a hard time to jump up to it since it's bit high (he's a big boy, remember?) and he gets scared to get in it for some reason. So whenever I take them out to the park, I still use my old reliable car (which hubby is now driving, heeee).

So there, it's been really really crazy for the past month and would get worse for the coming weeks. That's the reason why I haven't had any post here that has some susbtance of some sort. So if I don't get to visit your blog as often as I used to, wag magtampo, it's just that we're really tied up these days. I still do checkout some blogs but I don't get to leave comments/messages that much.

I just got tired writing and thinking about the chores we've done and the things we still yet to do. Got our hands really full with alot of things going on.

Now back to work.... Have a good week everyone! Ta-ta!

Need Some Break? Have a Coco!

I am currently loving songs of Colbie Caillat. I can listen to her songs the whole day and feel good after that. One of my favorites is her song called "Bubbly" from her album Coco. And so I decided to take a quick break from what I'm working on at the office to just post this.

Hope you enjoy this as much as I do. It's a bit girly alright, but this is what I need for the meantime to kinda keep my pace at work.

Missing my bloghopping friends... hope everyone's having a good week!

"Bubbly"

I've been awake for a while now
You've got me feelin' like a child now
'Cause every time I see your bubbly face
I get the tingles in a silly place

And it starts in my toes
And I crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes
I always know
That you make me smile
Please stay for a while now
Just take your time
Wherever you go

The rain is falling on my window pane
But we are hiding in a safer place
Under covers staying safe and warm
You give me feelings that I adore

And it starts in my toes
Make me crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes
I always know
That you make me smile
Please stay for a while now
Just take your time
Wherever you go

What am I gonna say
When you make me feel this way
I just mmmmm

And they start in my toes
Makes me crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes
I always know
That you make me smile
Please stay for a while now
Just take your time
Wherever you go

I've been asleep for a while now
You tuck me in just like a child now
'Cause every time you hold me in your arms
I'm comfortable enough to feel your warmth

And it starts in my soul
And I lose all control
When you kiss my nose
The feeling shows
'cause you make me smile baby
Just take your time now
Holdin' me tight

Wherever wherever wherever you go
Wherever wherever wherever you go

wherever you go
I always know
'Cause you make me smile
Even just for a while
